Comparison between return target and return
Past performance is not necessarily an indication of future returns.
About the Return Data - Returns are calculated in accordance with MySuper requirements, showing returns minus fees, costs and taxes. The Return Data is the compound average return over the past 10 years. Actual returns distributed to our members will depend on the timing of transactions within their accounts.
About the Return Target - The return target for MySuper Balanced has been calculated in accordance with the requirements that apply to MySuper. It is the average expected returns based on long running assumptions that exceeds the CPI (Consumer Price Index).
The CPI is an inflationary indicator that measures the change in the cost of a fixed basket of products and services, as released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
About the Graph - The graph outlines the actual returns from 2007 – 2016, the 10 year average moving return and the target return (CPI + 3%).
About the level of investment risk - The ‘Medium to High’ investment risk means from 2016 we expect 3-4 periods of negative investment returns over a 20 year period. It is based on industry guidance issued by the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia and the Financial Services Council.
About the cost of fees - Represents the dollar value of fees and other costs paid by a representative member with a $50,000 balance in the MySuper Balanced option for the year ended 30 June 2016.
